Jamal Mahmud, MD

Dr. Jamal Mahmud is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his residency training from Drexel University College of Medicine where he served as Chief Resident and held a faculty position later, as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. He is well-published in local and international journals. He has served as the Chief of Psychiatry at Ancora State Hospital. His special interests include Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Geriatric Psychiatry, Anxiety, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He is also certified to treat Suboxone patients and enjoys helping patients overcome substance abuse disorders.

For his services to the local community, Dr. Mahmud was awarded the Martin Luther King Freedom Medal by the Camden Freeholders and was included in the Marquis Who is Who for Medicine in America.
